\n\tEXCLUSIVE: Fox<\/a> is developing Wine & Spirits, a one-hour mystery drama from Jessica Alba<\/a>\u2019s production company, Lady Metalmark Entertainment. It is based on Manhattan Beach-based psychic medium Jennifer Shaffer<\/a> who, in addition to her private clientele, consults with the FBI and LAPD to solve crimes. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFrom the moment I met Jen Shaffer, I knew she was extraordinary,\u201d Alba said. \u201cNot just for her gift of connecting with the other side, but for her wit, sparkle, and unforgettable style. Over the years, we\u2019ve shared laughter, tears, and even meditation retreats (which I may have dragged her to), and she\u2019s helped awaken parts of my own intuition I never knew existed. Building a show around someone as dynamic as Jen has been a true joy, and I\u2019m excited to see these stories come to life under Rob\u2019s visionary direction.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWritten by Rob Sudduth<\/a> (Acapulco), Wine & Spirits centers on Jennifer Shepherd, a psychic living in Manhattan Beach who juggles two starkly different lives: one as a mom and divorcee and the other as a consultant solving crimes for the FBI.<\/p>\n

\n\tSudduth executive produces alongside Lady Metalmark\u2019s Alba and Tracey Nyberg and 3 Arts\u2019 Michael Rotenberg and Oly Obst. Alba is not attached to act in the project, from Fox Entertainment Studios.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI grew up listening to my tias tell ghost stories, so diving into a world of spirits feels right,\u201d Sudduth said. \u201cJen Shaffer is a force, whose candid relationship with the afterlife and deeply moving personal stories serve as an inspiration for our unique show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShaffer, a sought-after L.A. intuitive medium, will serve as a producer on the project.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis show is not just about solving mysteries, it\u2019s about connection, healing, and reminding people they\u2019re not alone,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\n\tFox found success in the mystery drama genre last season with Murder In A Small Town, which is returning for a second season this fall. <\/p>\n

\n\tLady Metalmark, which Alba launched in 2024 with producer Tracey Nyberg, recently sold a pitch for an R-rated female ensemble comedy to Netflix<\/a> with Alba attached to star and to produce alongside Nyberg.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlba produced and starred in the Netflix thriller Trigger Warning, which has garnered over 91 million times globally. The third season of the Roku unscripted series, Honest Renovations, which she created, executive produces and hosts with Lizzy Mathis, premiered Aug. 14. She will next be seen next in Maserati: The Brothers opposite Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, and Al Pacino.<\/p>\n
