US Ryder Cup vice captain Webb Simpson has revealed Keegan Bradley<\/a> agonised over whether or not to include Brian Harman in his plans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old skipper finally unveiled<\/a> his six captain’s picks at the PGA of America’s HQ on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Aside from the fact Bradley decided against picking himself, there were no real surprises.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bradley went for Justin Thomas<\/a>, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Patrick Cantlay, Sam Burns and Camerong Young.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jordan Spieth, Brooks Koepka<\/a>, Maverick McNealy, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Reed, Andrew Novak, Chris Gotterup, Max Homa, Tony Finau and Harman were all overlooked.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Harman played as a rookie in Rome two years ago, two months after he clinched the 2023 Open<\/a> at Royal Liverpool.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The deliberate left-hander played in four matches, going 1-2-0 at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His 2025 campaign was decent, with the golfer amassing eight top 25 finishes and one victory in Texas. He also made the cut in all four majors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite his results, some never viewed Harman as having a decent chance of making the 12-strong team simply because he is not a big hitter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

From the tips, Bethpage Black measures at 7,468 yards.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Simpson, though, said Bradley agonised over whether or not to include Harman and McNealy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I feel like a good number of guys [could have made the team],” Simpson told the Bible Caddie<\/a> podcast.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I think of Mav McNealy, the season he has had, 10th on points, the playoffs he had. He’s a great putter. I love Mav.<\/p>\n

“Brian Harman, all the guys love Brian. He is such a great player. A major winner. That was a hard one. Novak has had a heck of a season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I know he got hurt in the middle of the season and that probably put him behind the eight ball a little bit.<\/p>\n

“But then you throw in the captain himself, he has played about as good as anybody outside of Scheffler, so those calls I do not envy Keegan on those.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He said they all handled it really well. But that’s got to be a tough role to play.”<\/p>\n

Luke Donald’s big decision<\/p>\n

All eyes will now be on Bradley’s European counterpart Luke Donald.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former World No.1 will announce his picks on 1 September – follow GolfMagic for live updates.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Donald is largely expected to remain unchanged from the dozen that completed the Italian job.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shane Lowry, Viktor Hovland, Ludvig Aberg, Jon Rahm, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Sepp Straka are expected to join Rory McIlroy<\/a>, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntyre, Tyrrell Hatton and Rasmus Hojgaard.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Straka could potentially miss out as the big Austrian has been dealing with a ‘personal matter’ over the last few weeks<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
