Carey Price Trade Reportedly Settled, Deal Expected to Be Announced Shortly Says Lajoie

We should see action soon on the NHL trade market and with the Montreal Canadiens, if we go by Jean-Charles Lajoie.

“Canadiens fans, stay alert.

On costly September 1, Carey Price‘s contract will move elsewhere.”

– Jean-Charles Lajoie

“Hughes is reportedly inclined to give up draft picks, including first-rounders, in order to add a natural center to his roster.

A complex but effective deal, just the kind the GM likes, seems to be taking shape.”

– Lajoie

If we go by this statement from Lajoie, we can indeed say that the trade involving Carey Price’s contract is officially settled and will be announced Monday.

Because that is the date when Price’s last major signing bonus will be paid.

A trade with the Chicago Blackhawks for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens?

Otherwise, we’ll have to look toward the San Jose Sharks.

I’m really looking forward to Monday!

Everything could unfold very quickly then, and we shouldn’t even be surprised if it’s TWO trades announced by the Montreal Canadiens on Monday (one involving Price’s contract and another involving a center).

It promises to be an exciting Monday!
