Viola Davis is 60 and feeling \u201cfabulous.\u201d<\/p>\n

The veteran actor, who hit the milestone on Aug. 11, carried Leo season with poise and grace. At The Television Academy Hall of Fame in Los Angeles, Davis spoke with People<\/a> about why this next chapter feels better than ever. And when asked about how she\u2019s feeling, she didn\u2019t hold back.<\/p>\n

\u201cFabulous. I\u2019m alive. I\u2019m breathing. I\u2019m about to have a cocktail and some food,\u201d Davis said. \u201cI feel happier than I\u2019ve ever been.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reason? She\u2019s put in the time to become a better version of herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been curious enough about myself to do the work, and now that I\u2019m at 60, I can really honestly say that I found home,\u201d she said. \u201cI found my ruby slippers, and that, for me, has been extremely freeing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis added that embracing the process has helped her resist the pressure to feel \u201cold.\u201d In fact, she says she feels \u201cyounger\u201d than ever before. <\/p>\n

The EGOT winner has long been<\/a> a vocal advocate for self-awareness and authenticity. Back in 2016, while receiving the #SeeHer award at the Critics\u2019 Choice Awards, Davis spoke about the transformative power of embracing her self-identity. <\/p>\n

This recognition, she explained, came after years of learning to accept herself. <\/p>\n
