Former PGA Championship winner Rich Beem says Keegan Bradley should retain the Ryder Cup<\/a> captaincy for the 2027 matches.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The biennial showdown between Europe and the U.S. is only a matter of weeks away.<\/p>\n

Bradley has named his captain’s picks<\/a> and his counterpart, Luke Donald, will do the same on 1 September.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Donald<\/a> and his dozen will travel to Bethpage Black looking to become the first team since 2012 to claim the Cup in hostile territory.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Beem, of course, will be supporting the red, white and blue but he believes there is no clear favourite for the 2025 matches as Europe are the most prepared a side has ever been to break the streak.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Sky Sports Golf podcast, Beem said Europe’s ‘biggest asset’ is the fact Donald and his leadership team have been at the helm for three years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And the U.S. should do the same when they head to Adare Manor in Ireland in two years’ time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“There’s not going to be any differences of what they’ve doing,” Beem said<\/a> of Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It’s been the same setup, the same vice captains. I think you have to have that consistency, especially when you go away on foreign soil.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I think that the, the U.S. side should do the same exact thing.<\/p>\n

“I think if Keegan’s going to be the Ryder Cup captain this time, I think you’ve got to take the same exact [team again] as well. You have to have consistency.”<\/p>\n

Beem said he doesn’t see a clear favourite right now. “It’s a coin flip to me,” he said. “It really is a coin flip.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The Europeans are much more prepared to have success at Bethpage than at any other time they have played in the last few Ryder Cups on U.S. soil.”<\/p>\n

Beem’s surprise player<\/p>\n

Already, there is plenty of speculation about how the U.S. side will get on.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bradley’s team features four rookies whilst Donald may only have one.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Our Andy Roberts has already predicted<\/a> Bradley’s team selections for the foursomes and fourballs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Beem said he thinks Ben Griffin<\/a> will be the surprise package, although he’s not sure who he will partner.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I’ve watched him throughout the year,” he said. “I got a chance to watch him up close and personal at the PGA Championship a little bit, walked a couple of holes with him.<\/p>\n

“It was impressive, you know, the way that he swings it, the way that he hits it, the way that he thinks and talks to his caddie in-between shots.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He kind of zones out a little bit, so you know, when it’s time to lock in, he locks in.<\/p>\n

“He’s going to be nervous as hell, but I think Ben Griffin is going to be one of those guys that I think [is] going to be infectious for Team USA.<\/p>\n
