{"id":110048,"date":"2025-08-31T16:28:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-31T16:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/110048\/"},"modified":"2025-08-31T16:28:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-31T16:28:07","slug":"administrative-leave-for-emmanuel-clase-luis-ortiz-extended-until-further-notice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/110048\/","title":{"rendered":"Administrative Leave For Emmanuel Clase, Luis Ortiz Extended &#8220;Until Further Notice&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Guardians <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CleGuardians\/status\/1962181918625091928\" rel=\"nofollow\">announced<\/a> this morning that Major League Baseball and the MLB Players\u2019 Association have jointly agreed to extend non-disciplinary administrative leave for hurlers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/c\/claseem01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-31_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Emmanuel Clase<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=ortizlu03,ortiz-014lui,ortizlu02&amp;search=Luis+Ortiz&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-31_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Luis Ortiz<\/a> \u201cuntil further notice.\u201d Clase and Ortiz had both previously <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mlbtraderumors.com\/2025\/07\/guardians-closer-emmanuel-clase-administrative-leave-gambling-investigation-mlb.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">been<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mlbtraderumors.com\/2025\/07\/guardians-luis-ortiz-paid-leave-mlb-investigation.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">placed<\/a> on leave amid a gambling investigation last month, but that leave was set to expire today. As the investigation continues, they\u2019ll remain on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.
