I was also beset with uncontrolled shivering all during my show,\u201d he said. \u201cInitially, I thought it was just muscle cramps and aches. But when I started shivering, I started to lean toward the flu.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said he \u201cknew it was bad\u201d after he had blood work done that revealed his platelets and white blood cells were low. \u201cMy rheumatologist told me to go to the ER,\u201d he said. He was hospitalized, where he received an official diagnosis.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought, \u2018Of course you have malaria\u2026 You never do anything in small measures.\u2019 But I was a little scared\u2026 Malaria can be deadly if left unchecked,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t know exactly how \u2018severe\u2019 it was from a medical classification, but it sure felt severe\u2026 I have never felt that sick in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
