{"id":111220,"date":"2025-09-01T05:23:14","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T05:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/111220\/"},"modified":"2025-09-01T05:23:14","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T05:23:14","slug":"federal-initiative-to-support-prairie-businesses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/111220\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal initiative to support Prairie businesses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Government of Canada <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/prairies-economic-development\/news\/2025\/08\/government-of-canada-announces-support-for-prairie-businesses-facing-trade-challenges.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/prairies-economic-development\/news\/2025\/08\/government-of-canada-announces-support-for-prairie-businesses-facing-trade-challenges.html\">says<\/a> support is coming to help Prairie businesses respond to challenges from the current global trade war.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Support will come through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/atlantic-canada-opportunities\/services\/regional-tariff-response-initiative\/rtri-rda.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/atlantic-canada-opportunities\/services\/regional-tariff-response-initiative\/rtri-rda.html\">Regional Tariff Response Initiative<\/a> (RTRI), part of the federal government\u2019s three-year, $450-million effort to protect Canadian businesses and workers from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-finance\/programs\/international-trade-finance-policy\/canadas-response-us-tariffs.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/department-finance\/programs\/international-trade-finance-policy\/canadas-response-us-tariffs.html\">impacts of tariffs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Delivered by Canada\u2019s regional development agencies (RDAs), the government has also announced RTRI support for Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia and the territories.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cCanadian businesses are facing economic uncertainty as tariffs disrupt their export markets and global supply chains,\u201d the press release reads.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cIn this moment of global volatility, Canada is standing firm \u2014 defending its industries, protecting workers, and investing in long-term resilience.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">First announced in July, the RTRI aims to help boost productivity, cut costs, build more resilient supply chains and reach new markets.
