LOS ANGELES, Calif.\u00a0\u2013 Columbia women’s soccer took on Loyola Marymount Univsersity on Sunday evening in its final game of a brief two-game California trip. The Lions of California emerged victorious, taking down the Lions of New York City 2-1.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Lions struck first and quickly, as im the 6th minute Krystal Medina<\/a> put the Lions ahead\u00a0with the first goal of her young career.<\/p>\n

LMU responded with a strong second half, as Callan Harrington tied the match in the 55th minute\u00a0before Taylor Person scored the game-winner in the 68th to give the hosts the victory.<\/p>\n

Goalkeeper Cameron Lane<\/a> kept Columbia in the contest with seven saves against 11 shots on target in her first career start. Defender Justina Bitzer<\/a> anchored the back line by playing all 90 minutes. Columbia moved to 0-4-0 on the year while LMU improved to 2-1-0.<\/p>\n

\nColumbia returns to NYC and will take on St. John’s in Queens on September 4 at 7 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n
