{"id":111515,"date":"2025-09-01T09:18:15","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T09:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/111515\/"},"modified":"2025-09-01T09:18:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T09:18:15","slug":"angels-lefty-tyler-anderson-lands-on-il-with-strained-oblique","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/111515\/","title":{"rendered":"Angels lefty Tyler Anderson lands on IL with strained oblique"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aug 31, 2025, 03:19 PM ET<\/p>\n<p>HOUSTON &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/laa\/los-angeles-angels\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Angels<\/a> left-hander <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/32151\/tyler-anderson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tyler Anderson<\/a> has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a strained left oblique.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson is 2-8 with a 4.56 ERA in 26 starts this season. He pitched Friday, when he scattered five hits across five scoreless innings of a 2-0 loss to the Astros. He said he didn&#8217;t feel good during that start.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I had a feeling the whole time that this was not going to be a good situation at the end,&#8221; Anderson said Sunday. &#8220;At least for that start, fortunately, I feel like it was my back side oblique. I&#8217;ve done my front side like 10 years ago maybe, but with the back one it doesn&#8217;t really bother me to throw.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Anderson added that he wasn&#8217;t sure if this would keep him out for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles signed right-hander <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/33107\/jose-urena\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jose Ure\u00f1a<\/a> to take his spot on the roster. Ure\u00f1a was designated for assignment by the Twins on Aug. 23 after posting a 4.58 ERA in four games with three starts.<\/p>\n<p>The 33-year-old also has spent time with the Mets, Blue Jays and Dodgers this season.
