Shilo Sanders<\/a>‘ football future is unclear but he’s facing more consequences for what happened in his most recent NFL game.<\/p>\n

Sanders was ejected from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a>‘ preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills<\/a> after punching Bills<\/a> tight end Zach Davidson. The NFL announced today that he will be fined $4,669 for that punch, per multiple<\/a> reports<\/a>, despite Sanders not currently rostered by an NFL team.<\/p>\n

Sanders, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer coach Deion Sanders<\/a> and the brother of Cleveland Browns<\/a> quarterback Shedeur Sanders<\/a>, had played well during the preseason for the Buccaneers<\/a>. The team signed him as an undrafted free agent at safety and coach Todd Bowles was impressed.<\/p>\n

“Shilo’s very aggressive, very young, very hungry,” Bowles said before the preseason finale. “He can make plays in the box and we know he can run down and give us 100% on special teams, so this last week is going to be very important for those guys to show up.”<\/p>\n

After that punch and ejection, Bowles’ tune changed.<\/p>\n

“You can’t throw punches in this league. I mean, that’s inexcusable,”\u00a0he said. “They’re going to get you every time. Got to grow from that.”<\/p>\n

Tampa Bay did not include Sanders on the final 53-man roster and did not sign him to the 17-player practice squad. Sanders remains a free agent with the regular season set to begin Sept. 4.<\/p>\n
