She may not win Rookie of the Year, but Sonia Citron is making it clear that she is one of the WNBA’s rising superstars.<\/p>\n
Though the Mystics tumbled out of playoff contention over the past month, Citron and power forward Kiki Iriafen are Washington’s star duo of the future. Both rookies were named All-Stars this summer — and Citron on Sunday broke one of Caitlin Clark’s records, from the Indiana Fever guard’s historic rookie campaign of 2024.<\/p>\n

Citron, the #3 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft scored 12 points in 26 minutes, adding three assists, two rebounds and two steals.<\/p>\n But it was the 36th time in 41 career games that Citron scored 10 or more in a game — Clark reached double-digits 35 times on her way to winning Rookie of the Year last season.<\/p>\n Sonia Citron recorded her 36th game of the season scoring in double-digits vs. the Sparks.
