The Boston Celtics made a surprising move to start their offseason when they traded Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trailblazers for Anfernee Simons. Now, some are saying that Simons could be in for a big season.<\/p>\n

According to Heavy\u2019s Steve Bulpett<\/a>, an anonymous executive believes that Simons could wind up being the Celtics\u2019 leading scorer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI bet you he\u2019s their leading scorer,\u201d the executive said, per Bulpett. \u201cEven with Jaylen [Brown]. He\u2019s going to have the ball a lot, and that dude can really score. That offense is going to have to change to accommodate him, and, in the last year of his contract, he\u2019s going to let it fly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the kids say, he\u2019s a bucket. He is. That dude is a bucket,\u201d he added. \u201cHe can really fill it up. And remember, he was averaging around 20 in the West. What do you think he\u2019s going to do in the Eastern Conference, which is a LOT less competitive? How\u2019s he not going to score and score big?\u201d<\/p>\n

Simons has proven to be a capable scorer in the past. In his seven-season career, all with the Portland Trailblazers. He\u2019s averaging 15.0 points per game, and is a career 38 percent three-point shooter. Last season, he averaged 19.3 points per game, and averaged more than 20 points per game in each of the last two seasons prior to that.<\/p>\n
