{"id":113299,"date":"2025-09-02T03:26:05","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T03:26:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/113299\/"},"modified":"2025-09-02T03:26:05","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T03:26:05","slug":"hunter-leads-district-open-by-two-shots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/113299\/","title":{"rendered":"Hunter leads District Open by two shots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thunder Bay golfer is shooting for his fourth straight local major title. <\/p>\n<p>THUNDER BAY &#8212; Jeff Hunter holds the three of the last four Thunder Bay majors and he&#8217;s making a concerted effort to add to his impressive streak.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hunter followed up an impressive five-under 66 on Saturday at Chapples Golf Course with\u00a0an even par 72 on Sunday at Strathcona Golf Course, giving him a two-day, 138 total and a two-shot lead over Nathan Lepore at the Teleco District Open.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Jackson is another two shots back, going 70-72 in the first two rounds of the 54-hole event, which wraps up Sunday at Whitewater Golf Course.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Lysak, who equalled Hunter&#8217;s 66 on Saturday, is four off the pace, the Thunder Bay North Stars forward carding rounds of 66 and 78.
