Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> left fielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr<\/a>. was carted off the field during Monday’s night 7-5 loss<\/a> against the Texas Rangers<\/a> after hurting his right knee.<\/p>\n

Gurriel was hurt in the sixth inning after he jumped awkwardly out of the way to avoid center fielder Blaze Alexander<\/a>, who made a diving catch on a line drive by Rowdy Tellez<\/a> for the third out of the inning.<\/p>\n

“There’s no diagnosis right now — he’s set up for imaging tomorrow,” D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said. “Say some prayers for him tonight. It’s a situation where we’re going to hope for the best, but I don’t think it looks great.”<\/p>\n

Alexander was playing his first game in center field as a big leaguer.<\/p>\n

Gurriel stayed on the ground for several minutes while medical staff attended to him. The 31-year-old eventually got up and walked to the cart before being driven off the field.<\/p>\n

Gurriel came into the game batting .249 this season with 19 homers and 80 RBIs.<\/p>\n

The Diamondbacks have endured several serious injuries during a disappointing season. Ace right-hander Corbin Burnes<\/a> and key relievers Justin Martinez<\/a> and A.J.
