{"id":114245,"date":"2025-09-02T13:06:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T13:06:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/114245\/"},"modified":"2025-09-02T13:06:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T13:06:07","slug":"martin-lewis-chokes-up-as-he-slams-scammers-who-used","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/114245\/","title":{"rendered":"Martin Lewis chokes up as he slams scammers who used\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/martin-lewis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Martin Lewis<\/a> fumed as he hit out at \u201ccriminal\u201d scammers who used his image to con a couple out of their entire life savings of \u00a3120,000.<\/p>\n<p>Gill Casey appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/this-morning-0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">This Morning<\/a> on Tuesday (2 September), where she revealed that her husband Tim fell for a fake post of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/money-saving-expert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Money Saving Expert founder<\/a>, and he was tricked into investing through a bogus Bitcoin website.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to Casey, who said her husband died in 2024, Lewis described feeling \u201cdevastated\u201d to hear that people are using his image to swindle individuals out of their money, and reiterated that he \u201cdoes not do adverts or recommend making money products\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you see those adverts on social media, they are criminals.
