Taylor Swift<\/a> is already breaking records for The Life of a Showgirl<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n The 14-time Grammy winner’s upcoming album, out on Friday, Oct. 3, broke a Spotify record on Sunday, Aug. 3 \u2014 weeks before it comes out. The streamer announced on Instagram<\/a> that The Life of a Showgirl became the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history.\n<\/p>\n Spotify launched the Countdown Page along with the exclusive playlist titled, And, baby, that\u2019s show business for you<\/a>, on Aug. 14. In 2024, she was named Spotify’s global top artist<\/a> for the second year in a row with more than 26.6 billion streams. She also had the top-streamed album of 2024 with The Tortured Poets Department<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n Her 2019 song “Cruel Summer”<\/a> also made the top 10 most-streamed songs globally\u00a0list at no. 9.\n<\/p>\n “Top Streamed Artist AND Album on @spotify this year?! You guys are unbelievable,” Swift wrote on her Instagram Stories in December upon hearing the news. “What an amazing thing to find out going into our last weekend of eras shows \ud83d\udc8b THANK YOU!”<\/p>\n Taylor Swift in Vancouver in December 2024.<\/p>\n Kevin Winter\/TAS24\/Getty<\/p>\n The “So High School” singer<\/a> announced her 12th album during her debut appearance on now-fianc\u00e9<\/a> Travis Kelce<\/a> and his brother Jason Kelce<\/a>‘s podcast New Heights<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n Swift revealed the album cover and tracklist, which includes songs<\/a> titled “Elizabeth Taylor,” “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Actually Romantic” and the title track “The Life of a Showgirl” featuring Sabrina Carpenter<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n “This album is about what was going on behind my scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant,” Swift said of the album, which she worked on in between Eras Tour stops.\n<\/p>\n “I’m so proud of it, and it just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life. That effervescence has come through on this record.”<\/p>\n
