Accused, the “compelling” BBC legal drama featuring Anne-Marie Duff and Anna Maxwell Martin, has landed a new streaming<\/a> home in the UK.<\/p>\n

The anthology series<\/a>, which aired for two seasons in 2010 and 2012, follows various different characters as they await their verdict from a court trial, with each episode focusing on a different case. <\/p>\n

Written and created by Jimmy McGovern, the series boasts a stacked ensemble cast, with Duff and Martin being joined by the likes of Christopher Eccleston, Peter Capaldi, Andy Serkis, Naomie Harris, Stephen Graham, Sean Bean, Olivia Colman and Sheridan Smith.<\/p>\n

Though Accused may have aired over a decade ago, the drama has now found a new streaming home in the UK<\/a>, with all 10 instalments of the series set to be added to Netflix<\/a> on 10 September. <\/p>\n

“Each of these individual one-hour stories are captivating from start to finish. Jimmy McGovern excels in tight scripts which gripped me with their realism and pace. The series is further enhanced by fine English acting,” wrote one user<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Another viewer<\/a> was also full of praise as they called it “compelling viewing”, adding: “I think this series explores the grey area of justice in that what motivates a person to commit a crime is not always black and white and often complex.”<\/p>\n

“I absolutely love this show. Sometimes they are innocent and sometimes they are guilty, it’s up to you to decide. The stories keep you guessing and are very intriguing,” added another user<\/a> as they described the series as “amazing”.<\/p>\n

Accused was subsequently remade<\/a> for an American audience in 2023 by Fox, with actors such as Wendell Pierce, Cobie Smulders and Abigail Breslin appearing across the two seasons thus far.<\/p>\n

The British series isn’t the only collaboration between Martin and McGovern, with the pair working together earlier this year<\/a> on Unforgivable, a television film<\/a> which also starred Anna Friel and Jonas Armstrong.<\/p>\n

Accused will stream on Netflix from 10 September.<\/p>\n
