The win over Georgia State was the first for Asheville against the Panthers since 1997, and the first in the series at home since 1994.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThis is Mendes&#8217;s first career Player of the Week honor.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Vila do Conde, Portugal native is a computer science major.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Bulldogs (2-1-0) return to action on Saturday (Sept. 6) hosting Bellarmine at Greenwood Field for the program&#8217;s annual <a href=\"https:\/\/my.nmdp.org\/s\/join?language=en_US&amp;joinCode=marrow17&amp;gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=21894551707&amp;gbraid=0AAAAADRYjn8Fv6jUkVuvovgXmfRrxXB0B&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjw-NfDBhDyARIsAD-ILeD2MObhD0XjFgvTgA818lQavYqYL44esL1WO-SubO51IMrtI9ZV6_gaAkiYEALw_wcB\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NDMP match<\/a>.
