US Ryder Cup team member Bryson DeChambeau<\/a> has become the first golfer to fire a warning shot to Team Europe ahead of the 2025 matches.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DeChambeau has plenty of experience in the biennial dust-up but has been absent from golf’s biggest stage since the contest was held at Whistling Straits four years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A switch to LIV Golf<\/a>, along with a dip in form, meant he was overlooked by captain Zach Johnson in 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But the 31-year-old has qualified for Keegan Bradley’s team on merit this year, thanks to his consistent performances in the major championships.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There is absolutely no doubt the 2024 US Open<\/a> champion will be a hugely popular figure at Bethpage Black from 26-28 September.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The box office golfer will be roared on by thousands of rowdy New Yorkers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But what will Team Europe endure? Shane Lowry<\/a> and Jon Rahm<\/a> have weighed in on the subject, the latter explaining Donald has equipped his squad with all the necessary tools to deal with the volatile atmosphere<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lowry doesn’t believe it will be that bad<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

DeChambeau, though, was quoted in a recent promo video saying: “Whatever expectation they should have, they should double it. I don’t think they’re ready for it.”<\/p>\n

Captain Donald was asked about DeChambeau’s comment shortly after he announced his six wildcards.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Well, if they are not ready it’s my fault,” he told Telegraph Sport<\/a>. “Because I’ve spent 20 months trying to get them ready for this.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We understand it is going to be a huge tough environment. New Yorkers bring the noise, they bring the energy. But I think our players will be ready.”<\/p>\n

Bradley stunned by DeChambeau’s achievement<\/p>\n

DeChambeau will be making his third Ryder Cup<\/a> appearance at Bethpage Black.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Testament to his performances, DeChambeau qualified automatically for Team USA from only eight starts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bradley told media, including GolfMagic, when he unveiled his captain’s picks that DeChambeau’s achievement was ‘almost unheard of<\/a>‘.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“But what I’m most impressed about Bryson is the effort that he’s made to be a part of this team,” Bradley said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“He’s had to travel, go out of his way to meet us in our places, and he’s gone above and beyond what we would ever ask of a player.<\/p>\n

“That’s the thing I’m most proud of. You can go on and on about what an incredible player he is and golfer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“But what he’s done for this team, putting in the extra effort, is amazing to see.”<\/p>\n

Who will partner Bryson DeChambeau?<\/p>\n

One of Bradley’s biggest headaches<\/a> now is finding the right partner for DeChambeau.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His record in foursomes is not particularly good, with DeChambeau twice tasting defeat when he partnered Tiger Woods<\/a> and Phil Mickelson<\/a> at Le Golf National in 2018.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Steve Stricker elected not to play DeChambeau in the format in 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n
