A California jury unanimously agreed to clear rapper and entertainer Cardi B<\/a> of assault allegations on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Alm\u00e1nzar, was hit with a $24 million civil lawsuit by a former security guard, Emani Ellis, who alleged that the star spat on her and scratched her nose during an altercation in 2018.<\/p>\n

During the trial last month, Cardi testified<\/a> that she was keeping her pregnancy with her first child under wraps when she went for an appointment with an obstetrician in Beverly Hills. She said Ellis, who was working security for the building, followed her and recorded her on video.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told her, \u2018Why are you recording?\u2019\u201d Cardi testified. \u201cAnd she said, \u2019Oh my bad.\u2019 She practically apologized.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we were arguing she\u2019s backing me, she\u2019s walking into me,\u201d Cardi added.<\/p>\n

But at no point did either of them get into a physical fight, Cardi said.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe couldn\u2019t get a scratch from me because I didn\u2019t touch her,\u201d Cardi testified.<\/p>\n

She also acknowledged that Ellis didn\u2019t escalate to a physical confrontation. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe didn\u2019t touch me,\u201d Cardi said on the stand. \u201cShe was going to touch me, but she didn\u2019t get to touch me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ellis said in her testimony <\/a>that the scratch allegedly inflicted by Cardi required a cosmetic procedure because of scarring. Ellis also lost her job over the incident, and said the experience has been traumatizing. <\/p>\n
