Many healthy foods can cause gas and other unsettling tummy troubles.\u00a0The way most people deal with getting rid of that feeling is to eliminate certain foods from their diet, which was the case for Lena Bakovic, MS, RDN, CNSC at <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/letsliveitup.com\/pages\/lena-bakovic\" target=\"_blank\">Live It Up<\/a>. She stopped eating specific healthy foods that were the culprit. Here are the five worst offenders and how she felt afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>\tDairy<\/p>\n<p><img xmlns=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-medium wp-image-651921\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"&quot;0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/dairy-products.jpg\" alt=\"dairy products\" width=\"640\" height=\"469\"  \/>Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>The first food Bakovic realized was causing her bloating was dairy. While cheese and ice cream are delicious, many can\u2019t tolerate dairy and have to scale back to totally cut out of their diet. \u201cFrom my own personal experience, dairy products have been at times symptomatic in terms of producing bloating and gas,\u201d says.<\/p>\n<p>\tBeans<\/p>\n<p><img xmlns=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload size-medium wp-image-872510\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"&quot;0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/shutterstock_2115787214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"469\"  \/>Black beans and rice dish.Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>Beans are loaded with protein, but also fiber, which can cause stomach discomfort. It\u2019s the second thing Bakovic started to avoid. \u201cAt certain times,\u00a0 I have also had the need to temporarily eliminate legumes, examples being the many varieties of beans and lentils, due to having experience of digestive issues including symptoms of bloating and gas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\tCruciferous Veggies<\/p>\n<p><img xmlns=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-medium wp-image-808339\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"&quot;0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/bob-evans-steamed-broccoli.jpg\" alt=\"Bob Evans Steamed Broccoli\" width=\"640\" height=\"469\"  \/>Bob Evans<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re always told to eat veggies since they\u2019re packed with essential nutrients, but some can cause serious stomach pain. \u201cCruciferous veggies (like broccoli and cabbage), for me personally, have most definitely at times triggered bloating and gas though it did not last so long,\u201d Bakovic says.6254a4d1642c605c54bf1cab17d50f1e<\/p>\n<p>\tHigh Fiber Cereal<\/p>\n<p><img xmlns=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-medium wp-image-601663\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"&quot;0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/My-Post-24.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"469\"  \/>Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>Fiber can be difficult to digest resulting in bloating and gas.\u00a0 Foods that contain a good amount of fiber can be hard for many to consume because of the bloating. \u201cFrom my last experience trying a new brand of high fiber cereal, I experienced bloating for a few days unlike the previous brand we used at home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\tIt Can Take Days to Feel Better<\/p>\n<p><img xmlns=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-medium wp-image-877400\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"&quot;0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/shutterstock_2169246133.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"469\"  \/>Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>After not eating dairy, beans, high fiber and certain veggies, Bakovic said it took a while to feel relief. \u201cPersonally, it can take from 3-5\u00a0 days to feel relief after having these healthy foods.\u201d\u00a0 I juice ginger and lemon, and have that first thing in the morning which helps to reduce my bloating. I also focus on hydration if these symptoms occur.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-article__related-link\"><a class=\"related-link\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eatthis.com\/healthy-weight-loss-recipes\/\" target=\"_blank\">65 Best Healthy Recipes for Weight Loss<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\tSlowly Reintroducing the Foods Back<\/p>\n<p><img xmlns=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-medium wp-image-877401\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"&quot;0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/shutterstock_1384679222.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"469\"  \/>Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>All of the foods Bakovic cut out of her diet are full of health benefits. While she avoided eating them for an extended period, she eventually reintroduced them in a strategic way. \u201cI made sure to include smaller portions and more protein,\u201d she says. \u201cFor example, now I prepare my cabbage in a soup rather than having it as a salad.
