Félix Auger-Aliassime is one of Canada’s highest-ranked tennis players, reaching a career-high of No. 6 in singles in 2022, the second-best ranking ever for a Canadian man in ATP history. He has won seven singles titles and one doubles title on the ATP Tour, and earned a bronze medal in mixed doubles with Gabriela Dabrowski at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Off the court, Auger-Aliassime has plenty to smile about as well. Last November, he got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Nina Ghaibi.

Curious to learn more about Félix Auger-Aliassime’s fiancée? Here are five facts you need to know about Nina Ghaibi:

1. Her cousin is also a famous tennis player.

Born in the U.S., Ghaibi is also a Croatian citizen; her mother is Croatian and her father is Moroccan. Her cousin is Croatian-born Australian tennis player Ajla Tomljanović, who reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 32 in 2023. The cousins are fairly close and appeared in Netflix’s Break Point series together.

2. She is an equestrian.

According to the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, Ghaibi competes on behalf of Morocco, and has had 44 starts since 2017. Her saved Instagram Stories include clips of her working with horses at stables on Long Island.

3. She’s an animal lover.

The horses probably gave it away, but Ghaibi is definitely an animal lover. She’s often seen with her pet Pomeranian Timmy when traveling, at the stables, or anywhere in between.

And in one vacation photo with Auger-Aliassime, she’s cuddling with a very large but cute pig, which look like the ones people often swim within Exuma in the Bahamas. “Caught the four legged fishy,” she wrote in 2022.

4. Ghaibi and Auger-Alisassime started dating when they were both 18."TagKristy Sparow//Getty Images

The couple met when they were both just 18 years old. Now 25, Auger-Aliassime and Ghaibi have really grown up together, and taken the time to make the decision to make that next step in their relationship.

“Everyone’s different. There are great players out there who are single, or looking, or not looking. It’s very personal. Relationships are so different from one person to the next. But for me personally, having Nina and having her by my side through this whole journey as a professional tennis player has meant a lot,” Felix told ATPTour.com in August. “I met her when I was 18 and she’s always been amazing when it comes to understanding what I have to go through. She supports me, listens and even gives me great advice, whether it’s about tennis or not. We really try to support each other in everything and at the same time, we’re best friends. It’s the best thing to have her in my life.”

5. The couple’s engagement post got a lot of engagement in the tennis world.

Auger-Aliassime and Ghaibi are clearly a popular couple. After they shared a joint Instagram post last November of their engagement photos, both dressed in white with a new diamond ring on Ghaibi’s hand, plenty of their peers commented to congratulate them, including fellow Canadian Denis Shapovalov and his fiancée, Swedish tennis player Mirjam Bjorklund; American tennis star Coco Gauff; Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend Morgan Riddle; Tommy Paul’s girlfriend Paige Lorenze; and Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz. Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas also joked, “Finally, someone to share a Netflix password with forever. Congratulations Felix!”
