{"id":118303,"date":"2025-09-04T03:14:06","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T03:14:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/118303\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T03:14:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T03:14:06","slug":"im-gonna-get-flack-for-it-ryan-blaney-ranks-nascars-crown-jewel-races","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/118303\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;I&#8217;m gonna get flack for it&#8217;: Ryan Blaney ranks NASCAR&#8217;s crown-jewel races"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is some mixed reaction from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nascar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NASCAR<\/a> fan base regarding which races are actually crown jewels.<\/p>\n<p>While some would say the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600, Brickyard 400 and Southern 500 are the four marquee events, others might say the Brickyard 400 is not a crown jewel and the Bristol Night Race should instead be included on that list.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the opinions may be, there is no denying the history behind the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600 and Southern 500 and why they are annual fixtures on the Cup Series schedule.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nascar\/players\/ryan_blaney\/356186\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ryan Blaney<\/a> has interesting choice atop his crown-jewel rankings<\/p>\n<p>Following Sunday&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nascar\/articles\/nascar_cook_out_southern_500_takeaways_chase_briscoe_delivers_career_performance_in_repeat_win_at_darlington\/s1_13132_42668553\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">playoff-opening Southern 500<\/a> at Darlington Raceway, the 2023 Cup Series champion was on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and was asked to rank the crown-jewel races.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To me personally, there&#8217;s four crown jewels. I know a lot of people probably won&#8217;t agree with that, but it&#8217;s Daytona, Darlington, Coke 600 and Indy,&#8221; Blaney said. &#8230; &#8220;To me, I feel like it&#8217;s Coke 600, Darlington, Daytona, then Indy. That&#8217;s kind of my list. &#8230; It doesn&#8217;t matter if it&#8217;s number one, two, three or four, I&#8217;m gonna get flack for it.
