Last month, Archinect ran an extensive study<\/a> on the use of AI in cover letters, challenging ourselves<\/a> to produce cover letters through AI that surpassed humans, and challenging you<\/a> to spot the differences.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While the experiment was primarily intended to explore the ability of AI to produce cover letters<\/a> that can compete with humans, it also offered us an opportunity to reflect on the role cover letters play in the modern employment<\/a> process.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Several readers told us that they detest writing cover letters and that they were cumbersome to read. Others questioned the entire purpose of cover letters, with one asking: \u201cWho reads cover letters anymore? Are they not just for admin staff? The portfolio and relevant project experience is the only thing that counts.\u201d<\/p>\n
