RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The State of Nevada is partnering with NASCAR driver Ross Chastain to promote safe driving initiatives.<\/p>\n
Chastain will work with Nevada\u2019s Zero Fatalities Program to raise awareness around issues like seatbelt safety, impaired driving, speeding and distracted driving.<\/p>\n
The partnership will culminate in a meet and greet with Chastain at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Fan Zone prior to a race at South Point 400 on Oct. 12.<\/p>\n
\u201cTraffic safety is a shared responsibility not just among drivers, but for all Nevadans. Creating safer roads starts with addressing selfish and unsafe driving behaviors that are causing the preventable loss of life on our roadways,\u201d said Division Administrator of the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety Amy Davey. \u201cOur mission has always been to eliminate roadway fatalities in the state, and we are excited to partner with Ross Chastain, who shares our vision. His work across the country is a testament to his passion and commitment to traffic safety, and we are excited to have him join our efforts in making our roads safer for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
