VTA and Kalamalka Country Club host one-day event for kids six-to-14 who had never played in a tournament <\/p>\n
There was a bit of a racket for back to school at Coldstream’s Kalamalka Country Club.<\/p>\n
The club, along with the Vernon Tennis Association, hosted the one-day Vernon Junior Tennis Tournament prior to the Labour Day weekend.<\/p>\n
“The tournament was for players aged six-to-14 who’d never played tournament tennis,” said event spokesperson Gordon Mann.<\/p>\n
The tourney drew 16 players with medals awarded in the following divisions:<\/p>\n
\u2022 10 and under winner: Boston Leigh;<\/p>\n
Runner-up: Ben Engrram;<\/p>\n
\u2022 12 and under winner: Esm\u00e9e Peterson;<\/p>\n
Runner-up: Silas Kane;<\/p>\n
\u2022 14 and under winner:\u00a0Josh Cook;<\/p>\n
Runner-up:\u00a0Sony Nguyen.<\/p>\n
