Toto Wolff has revealed that he and ex-Mercedes<\/a> star Lewis Hamilton<\/a> still share a close relationship despite the champion’s move to Ferrari<\/a> in F1. <\/p>\n

\nThe Mercedes team principal has always maintained that Hamilton’s shock switch to race for the Scuderia<\/a> this season would not impact their personal lives, and his recent admission has revealed just how much their relationship has grown. <\/p>\n

\nWolff has remained supportive of the seven-time world champion throughout his Ferrari career, maintaining the belief that magic is \u2018still there\u2019 for Hamilton despite a disappointing 2025 season<\/a> so far. <\/p>\n

\nIn a recent conversation with the Wall Street Journal<\/a>, Wolff opened up further about his relationship with Hamilton and revealed they still maintained a strong friendship. <\/p>\n

\nThe Mercedes boss even stated that Hamilton flies between grands prix with his old boss and former team-mates, instead of with his new Ferrari squad<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n“He\u2019s maintained being a friend. He pops up in the office on the weekend! He speaks with the engineers, gets some food,” Wolff said. <\/p>\n

\n“After many grands prix, he travels back with me. So we have the old gang: Valtteri Bottas<\/a>, George Russell<\/a>, Lewis Hamilton and me flying from the races.” <\/p>\n

Does Hamilton miss Mercedes?<\/p>\n

\nIt is easy to say with hindsight that Hamilton should have remained at Mercedes, particularly as the Silver Arrows have delivered some strong results in 2025 and have been tipped to dominate the next set of regulations<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\nThe British star’s old team-mate also remains the only driver to win a grand prix that does not race for McLaren<\/a> or Red Bull in 2025, with Russell joining Max Verstappen<\/a>, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris<\/a> as the only race winners throughout this campaign. <\/p>\n

\nMeanwhile, Hamilton has failed to finish higher than fourth in a grand prix in 2025, as both himself and team-mate Charles Leclerc<\/a> struggle to extract any pace from the SF-25. <\/p>\n

\nHamilton currently sits sixth in the drivers\u2019 standings<\/a> and 16 points behind Leclerc, as Piastri builds a 131 point advantage at the top of the standings to the champion. <\/p>\n

\nThough Hamilton clearly misses Mercedes even if just from a social point of view, his focus remains firmly on improving his chances of a comeback in red for the second half of the 2025 season. <\/p>\n
