\t\t\t\t\tConcerns about his health followed him all summer, but heading into training camp, Maple Leafs Captain Auston Matthews<\/a> shared a major update on his health status.<\/p>\n Beginning in training camp last season, Auston Matthews did his best to play through a nagging injury the entire season and playoffs. Unfortunately, there were multiple instances where he was forced to take significant time off, including mid-November when he visited a specialist in Germany.<\/p>\n Auston Matthews Provides Significant Health Update Ahead of Training Camp<\/p>\n During the interview, Cotsonika asked the three-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner about his health, to which Matthews gave an answer that will leave Leafs Nation a little less anxious entering the season.<\/p>\n “My health is good,” Matthews said. “I feel a lot better. I think I took really good steps this offseason as far as that goes, and so I’m really happy with that progress and happy with where I’m at.”<\/p>\n It was suspected to be a back injury that limited the former first-overall pick to just 65 games and 78 points (33 goals, 45 assists) in what was an ‘off’ season for him.
