Clarkson first captivated audiences in 2002 with her vocals on \u201cAmerican Idol,\u201d launching a career that resonated with millions. Now, in 2025, the singer thanked fans for a moment like this.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo everyone that took time 23 years ago to call in and vote for me, thank you,\u201d Clarkson wrote on Instagram Thursday,<\/a> alongside a photo of her win. \u201cWinning American Idol changed my life and I will be forever grateful for all of you that have supported me for so many years.\u201d<\/p>\n

The singer and talk show host went on to praise her journey and take time to note how important it is to find one\u2019s \u201cpurpose.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a gift to find your purpose and passion, and to be able to make a living doing it is the cherry on top. Thank you, always,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n

This is the first post Clarkson has made since the death of her ex-husband,<\/a> Brandon Blackstock, from cancer. The talent manager passed away on Aug. 7, according to a statement from People. <\/p>\n
