{"id":123855,"date":"2025-09-06T08:37:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-06T08:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/123855\/"},"modified":"2025-09-06T08:37:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T08:37:09","slug":"gasly-commits-to-alpine-until-at-least-the-end-of-f1-2028","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/123855\/","title":{"rendered":"Gasly commits to Alpine until at least the end of F1 2028"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/pierre-gasly\/840483\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pierre Gasly<\/a> will remain with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/team\/alpine\/39174\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Alpine<\/a> in Formula 1 until at least the end of the 2028 season, the team confirmed on Saturday during the Italian Grand Prix weekend at Monza.<\/p>\n<p>Gasly joined the Enstone-based squad in 2023 from AlphaTauri and has since taken two podium finishes &#8211; at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix and the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after Steve Nielsen recently joined Alpine as its managing director, while parent company Renault Group appointed Francois Provost as CEO in July.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to commit my long-term future to Alpine,\u201d said Gasly, who won the 2020 Italian Grand Prix with AlphaTauri.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a Frenchman, especially, driving for a French car company makes me feel very proud. We\u2019re all in this together and I look forward to continuing this special story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gasly has signed this new deal despite Alpine sitting bottom of the 2025 constructors&#8217; championship so Briatore,\u00a0who returned to Alpine earlier this year in an advisory role, stressed the importance of it ahead of next season&#8217;s regulation change.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince I returned, I have always stated how important it is to build and grow the competitiveness of BWT Alpine Formula 1 Team,\u201d Briatore said. \u201cWe\u2019re well prepared for the new era of Formula 1 beginning in 2026, and now we have our lead driver confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Pierre has been an immense asset during this challenging period.
