Jamie Cain, 43, of London. (London Police Service)<\/p>\nA London public school teacher and hockey volunteer\u00a0is facing charges after a girl was sexually assaulted\u00a0over the course of a number of months.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said they began investigating in August after a report that a Bonaventure Meadows Public School teacher began emailing a school-aged girl in January 2025.<\/p>\n
Jamie Cain, 43, has been charged with\u00a0sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under the age of 16, and luring a person under 16 years\u00a0by means of telecommunication.<\/p>\n
Police say the girl was taken to the man’s home in April and sexually assaulted. The girl was also touched inappropriately at school in June, officers said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cain was on a contract at Bonaventure Meadows Public School for the last eight years, school board officials said. He was also a volunteer with the Devilettes girls’ hockey association, the organization said Friday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“The London Devilettes Girls Hockey Association has been made aware of deeply concerning charges laid against a London man, who was a volunteer with our organization,” the hockey club said in a social media post.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Effective immediately, this individual has been removed from all team responsibilities and will no longer have any involvement with the London Devilettes Girls Hockey Association in any capacity.”<\/p>\n
Cain declined to comment when approached at his home on Friday.\u00a0He was first registered with the Ontario College of Teachers\u00a0in 2010, and was listed in good standing at the time police announced the charges.<\/p>\n
In a statement to CBC,\u00a0the college said it is aware of the charges, but was unable to comment on investigations or confirm that it’s conducting an internal investigation.<\/p>\n
