Environment Canada warns that they are expected to last until there is a change in the weather.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"170\" height=\"225\" loading=\"lazy\" said the <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.gc.ca\/en\/location\/index.html?coords=49.245,-123.115\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">high-risk areas include<\/a> some parts of northwest Metro Vancouver, the eastern Fraser Valley, Squamish, Whistler and the Prince George area, while the air quality around Nanaimo and the southern end of Vancouver Island is considered low to moderate risk.<\/p>\n<p>Much of the Interior is considered to be moderate risk.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-figure__image\" alt=\"The special air quality statements are expected to special air quality statements are expected to continue for most of British Columbia throughout the weekend and into early next week.\t\t\t\t <\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tGlobal News\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the forecast for the weekend and into next week, we\u2019ll continue to see that widespread smoke.\u00a0 Maybe a bit of a break will move in on Wednesday, but we are not tracking any significant rainfall that\u2019s going to move the smoke out of the region,\u201d Schalle said.<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>The poor air quality has also prompted a warning from Environment Canada for people to consider postponing or limiting outdoor activities, especially for people who are at high risk, including those with heart and lung conditions or other chronic health problems such as diabetes, people who are pregnant, infants, children and older adults.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are also advised to keep windows and doors closed and consider investing in a portable HEPA smoke\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>People who must spend time outdoors are advised to wear a well-constructed, well-fitting respirator-type mask (such as a NIOSH-certified N95 or equivalent respirator) that can help reduce exposure to the fine particles in the smoke.<\/p>\n<p>Environment Canada also warns that heat is also a bigger problem for most people and is advising people to stay cool, drink plenty of water and try to spend time in places with air conditioning and better air quality, such as community centres, libraries and shopping malls.<\/p>\n<p>Story
