Olivia Smith had a debut to remember in front of the Emirates Stadium crowd for Saturday\u2019s Barclays WSL opener.<\/p>\n
Our Canadian summer signing bagged a Player of the Match trophy, alongside a spectacular goal in front of the Clock End, to open her Arsenal account in style.<\/p>\n
\u201cHonestly, I couldn’t ask for a better way to start,” said Smith, after the match. “I think\u00a0with the support of my teammates, the staff, and the fans, it made it so much sweeter. So, it was a great, great game.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was definitely an unreal atmosphere and something I’ve never felt before.\u00a0So for me, to score a goal like that and to\u00a0rile up the whole crowd, it was amazing.”<\/p>\n
When asked how much fun it is to play alongside our squad, Olivia couldn’t hide her delight.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Don’t even get me started! The feeling of being so creative on the pitch with other creative players – it’s an unreal feeling.\u00a0And I think you can see on the pitch that it was just fun for us.\u00a0We had the time of our lives and we came up with a great result.”<\/p>\n
“I think this was just a glimpse.\u00a0First game, many more to go. So I’m definitely looking at going up from here.”<\/p>\n
