Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will sit out for the rest of the WNBA season as she deals with ongoing injuries.<\/p>\n
Clark announced she would miss the rest of the season with groin and ankle injuries on social media Thursday.<\/p>\n
Clark said her injuries are \u201cincredibly frustrating,\u201d but praised Fever fans for their support during the season.<\/p>\n
The basketball star said she “spent hours in the gym every day with the singular goal of getting back out there” so “disappointed isn\u2019t a big enough word” to describe her feelings about missing the rest of the 2025 WNBA season. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis has been incredibly frustrating, but even in the bad, there is good. The way the fans continued to show up for me, and for the Fever, brought me so much joy and important perspective,\u201d she said. \u201cI am so proud of how this team has only gotten stronger through adversity this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Clark left a July 15 game against the Connecticut Sun in the final minute, and has been trying to come back since, though she had not yet resumed regular practices with the team.<\/p>\n
Clark has only appeared in 13 games this season and hasn\u2019t played in a game since mid-July. She averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and five rebounds per game in those outings.<\/p>\n
The Fever are currently in eighth place in the WNBA, with three games remaining in the regular season. They are a half-game behind the Seattle Storm and one and a half games ahead of the Los Angeles Sparks, drawing closer to clinching a playoff berth.<\/p>\n
