Reigning Masters champion Rory McIlroy<\/a> has teed up an outside chance to claim his first victory since completing the career grand slam at The Masters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A patient McIlroy, 36, carded a bogey-free 68 on Saturday at the K Club to close the gap to four shots with leader Adrien Saddier at the 2025 Amgen Irish Open<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Saddier endured an up-and-down day, but made birdie on his final hole in round three to open up a one-shot lead over Spain’s Angel Hidalgo.\u00a0<\/p>\n

McIlroy told reporters he was a tad frustrated with his 68, given he was driving the ball well and firing at pins – but the wind kept on catching him out<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Should McIlroy win, it would mark his first professional victory since completing the career grand slam at Augusta National in April.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The final round of the Amgen Irish Open will begin at 7.10am. McIlroy is playing in the penultimate group alongside Spain’s Alfredo Garcia-Heredia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The duo are off at 12.56pm local time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
