{"id":126689,"date":"2025-09-07T13:52:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-07T13:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/126689\/"},"modified":"2025-09-07T13:52:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T13:52:08","slug":"womens-golf-starts-at-folds-of-honor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/126689\/","title":{"rendered":"Women&#8217;s Golf Starts At Folds Of Honor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tar Heels begin the 2025-26 women&#8217;s golf season September 8-10 in Grand Haven, Mich., in the Folds of Honor Collegiate at American Dunes Golf Club.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Folds of Honor Foundation supports scholarships for the children and spouses of America&#8217;s fallen or disabled service members.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe tournament is hosted by the Folds of Honor Foundation, Michigan State, Florida State, the Golf Coaches Association of America and the HNS Sports Group.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nCarolina is one of 12 women&#8217;s teams in the tournament, joining Arizona, Baylor, Delaware State, Findlay, FSU, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, Navy, Ohio State and Texas A&amp;M.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nGolf Channel will broadcast portions of all three rounds. Coverage Monday and Tuesday is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nGolf Today will show highlights and analysis from 3:30 to 4:40 p.m. on each of the first two days and 2:30 to 4:40 p.m. for the final round. Golf Central will also have coverage from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. each day, with a college golf preview airing Monday at 8 p.m.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Tar Heels open the 2025-26 season ranked No. 16 in the country by Golfweek and 17th in the Mizuno WGCA Coaches polls.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/coaches\/aimee-neff\/4505\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"4505\" target=\"_blank\">Aimee Neff<\/a>, the Bobby Galloway Women&#8217;s Golf Head Coach, is in her fifth season directing the program. The Tar Heels return five starters and seven of the nine players on the roster, including all five in the lineup at the Folds of Honor.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nLeading the way are seniors <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/megan-streicher\/27083\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"27083\" target=\"_blank\">Megan Streicher<\/a> (Cape Town, South Africa) and <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/inez-ng\/27079\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"27079\" target=\"_blank\">Inez Ng<\/a> (Singapore).<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nStreicher is a two-time All-ACC honoree and Carolina&#8217;s all-time single-round, single-season and career scoring average leader.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nNg, won the Cavalier Regional Preview last year at Virginia with a 12-under 204 finish that equaled UNC&#8217;s all-time 54-hole record.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nStreicher and Ng will represent their respective countries in early October in Singapore in the 2025 World Amateur Team Championship.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nJunior Ing Iapluem (Surat, Thani, Thailand) and sophomores <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/marie-prats-rigual\/27080\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"27080\" target=\"_blank\">Marie Prats-Rigual<\/a> (Perpignan, France) and <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/womens-golf\/roster\/helen-yeung\/27085\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"27085\" target=\"_blank\">Helen Yeung<\/a> (Clarksville, Md.) join Streicher and Ng in the lineup this week.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIadpluem was Carolina&#8217;s best finisher in four of the last five tournaments in the spring, which included two runners-up and a fourth place.
