LAS VEGAS \u2013 There\u2019s a big fight feel in the air during fight week of the \u201cOnce in a lifetime\u201d bout between Terence \u201cBud\u201d Crawford<\/a> and Saul \u201cCanelo\u201d \u00c1lvarez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The fight is slated to take place on Saturday (Sept. 13) on Netflix inside Allegiant Stadium, where the Las Vegas Raiders play.<\/p>\n

As the dust settled, Crawford may have found a familiar foe who danced in the squared circle with \u00c1lvarez back in 2013 for the WBA, WBC, and the Ring light middleweight championship in boxing icon Floyd \u201cMoney\u201d Mayweather Jr.<\/a><\/p>\n

Mayweather Jr. won the fight by a 12-round majority decision in front of a sold-out crowd of 16,746 inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena.<\/p>\n

As the old saying goes, \u201cThe enemy of my enemy is my friend.\u201d <\/p>\n

So what better friend could one have than the Grand Rapids<\/a> native who, according to reports, has shared a good relationship beyond boxing?<\/p>\n

\u201cFloyd just randomly calls me, asks how my family is doing, how I\u2019m doing. He doesn\u2019t even talk about boxing,\u201d said Crawford on Club Shay Shay. \u201cHe just checks up on you, makes sure everybody\u2019s good. That means more to me than calls about boxing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mayweather Jr. and Crawford have a relationship built on mutual respect and admiration, with \u201cMoney\u201d telling Crawford that he is the best fighter in the world in years past.<\/p>\n

Crawford reciprocated the love for Mayweather Jr., saying he was the greatest boxer of all time, having retired undefeated with an unblemished 50-0 record.<\/p>\n

Gaining insight from someone who many consider the greatest boxer of all time is the ultimate weapon for another undefeated boxer like Crawford, who stands at 41-0.<\/p>\n

\u201cFloyd, man, that boy bad, that\u2019s the G.O.A.T.,\u201d Bud said.<\/p>\n

Mayweather could quietly be becoming Crawford\u2019s secret weapon ahead of the biggest fight of his life against \u00c1lvarez.<\/p>\n

I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if Money reached out during training camp to assist Bud in conquering what he once did several years earlier.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to tell y\u2019all the truth about Canelo, man. Easy work. Y\u2019all sitting up there praising this dude. This dude was nothing. I was almost 40 years old when I cooked him,\u201d Mayweather said in an interview.<\/p>\n

Like Mayweather Jr. in his fight with \u00c1lvarez, Crawford is approaching 40 years of age ahead of his fight with \u00c1lvarez, as he will be 37 when the bell rings inside Allegiant Stadium.<\/p>\n
