CONWAY, Ark. \u2013 After earning a scoreless draw against Missouri State on Sunday, Central Arkansas men’s soccer’s goalkeeper Javier Ramirez<\/a> was named the league’s Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

\nGoing up against one of the country’s best offenses, as well as the nation’s leading goal-scorer, Ramirez was in for a potentially tough night. But the senior from Spain was more than up to the challenge, fending off all five shots from Missouri State to hold the Bears scoreless. It marked the first scoreless outing for Missouri State since a 1-0 loss in last season’s Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Semifinal, and the first scoreless regular season game since last October against Saint Louis.

\nRamirez has had a terrific start to the season despite the overall record of the Bears. Facing the most shots of any ASUN goalkeeper, he holds a 1.50 goals against average, a top-five number in the ASUN. He is also one of six ASUN goalkeepers to log a shutout this season.

\nThe Bears continue their road swing, playing the fifth of six-straight on the road this Sunday at High Point. Kickoff in North Carolina is set for 6 p.m. CT.
