TULSA, Okla. \u2013 In a crowded leaderboard at the NSU Women’s Golf Classic, the Harding women’s golf team stands tied for the lead after carding a 15-over 299 in Monday’s opening round at the Page Belcher Golf Course. The Lady Bisons are the highest-ranked Great American Conference team in the 17-team tournament.<\/p>\n
Harding freshman Vivian Volion<\/a> made a statement in her collegiate debut, shooting an even-par 71 to tie for the individual lead. Playing as an individual, Volion’s round was highlighted by a bogey-free back nine with three birdies. She is tied with three other golfers at the top of the leaderboard.<\/p>\n Pilar Martinez<\/a> led the scoring for the team lineup, finishing tied for 12th place with a 3-over 74. A trio of Lady Bisons\u2014Madeleine Wilson<\/a>, Sydney Kincade<\/a>, and Cooper Meyer<\/a>\u2014each shot a 4-over 75 to end the day tied for 18th. Sidney Gainor<\/a> rounded out the team with a 7-over 78, placing her in 34th.<\/p>\n The Lady Bisons showed a strong short game, holing out on four shots from off the green. Kincade’s round included a 95-yard eagle on the 18th hole, marking the third eagle of her career and making her the first Harding women’s golfer to achieve that milestone.<\/p>\n The second and final round of the NSU Women’s Golf Classic will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Page Belcher Golf Course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
