LOUIS, Mo. \u2013\u00a0Indiana State forward\u00a0Alex Lehnert<\/a>\u00a0was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week following her standout performances against Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri State.\u00a0<\/p>\n On\u00a0September 4 at Eastern Illinois, the junior forward played 67 minutes and scored the game-tying goal in the 79th minute to secure a 1-1 draw. She recorded\u00a01 goal on 5 total shots, with\u00a02 shots on goal, and finished with\u00a02 points\u00a0while posting a 20% shooting percentage and a 40% shots-on-goal rate.\u00a0<\/p>\n She followed it up with an electric performance on\u00a0September 7 against Southeast Missouri State, logging 38 minutes and contributing\u00a01 goal and 2 assists\u00a0in Indiana State’s 5-0 home win. Lehnert registered\u00a04 shots, including 2 on frame, and totaled\u00a04 points, finishing with a 25% shooting percentage and a 50% shots-on-goal rate.\u00a0<\/p>\n The\u00a0New Lenox, Ill.\u00a0native now leads Indiana State with\u00a0six goals and 14 points\u00a0through eight matches, ranking among the top scorers in the MVC\u00a0and already matching a career high in multi-goal games this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n This is the first MVC Player of the Week honor of Lehnert’s career. \u00a0<\/p>\n Up Next<\/p>\n Indiana State continues the 2025 season on Thursday night at Green Bay.
