D4vd<\/a> reportedly is \u201ccooperating\u201d with authorities after a horrible stench led police to a rotting corpse inside the trunk of a Tesla registered to the singer and impounded at a tow yard in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\n\tA law enforcement source confirmed to Rolling Stone that the Tesla with Texas plates was registered to David Anthony Burke, which is the singer\u2019s real name. The body, which was found Monday afternoon, has not yet been identified. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe remains were transported to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office on Monday night, but an examination had not yet taken place as of Tuesday afternoon, a different law enforcement source said. The gender remained unconfirmed, the source said.<\/p>\n

\n\tBurke, who is currently on tour, performed in Madison, Wisconsin, on Sunday. He was still set to perform in Minneapolis on Tuesday night, Sept. 9.\u00a0A representative for the Fillmore in Minneapolis told Rolling Stone the show \u201cis happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA spokesperson for Burke told NBC News<\/a> that the musician \u201chas been informed about what\u2019s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.\u201d A lawyer for Burke did not immediately return Rolling Stone\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to the Los Angeles police, the body was discovered Monday afternoon after officers responded to a call about a \u201cfoul odor coming from a vehicle\u201d at the tow yard in Hollywood. \u201cDetectives responded and located possible human remains,\u201d an LAPD spokesman said. \u201cIt is currently a death investigation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tPolice sources said the car had been abandoned for at least five days. It was towed from the upscale Bird Streets neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tA source told the Los Angeles Times that the remains were a \u201chead and torso\u201d contained in a bag<\/a> inside the trunk. KTLA first reported that the remains were so badly decomposed<\/a>, investigators could not make out the person\u2019s gender.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Tuesday, the fashion companies Crocs and Hollister said they were pulling back on a campaign that featured D4vd<\/a> modeling a \u201cDream Drop\u201d collaboration between the popular brands. \u201cWe are aware of this developing story. With respect to the current situation, we have removed campaign content featuring D4vd while the investigation continues,\u201d the brands said in a joint statement sent to Footwear News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tBurke, as D4vd, released his debut album, Withered<\/a>, back in April. He broke through in 2022 with singles \u201cRomantic Homicide\u201d and \u201cHere With Me,\u201d which garnered significant traction on TikTok. He released his debut EP, Petals to Thorns, in May 2023, then followed it up a few months later with The Lost Petals.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tBurked launched his current tour back in August. He has North American dates scheduled through the end of this month, with his last show currently slated for Sept. 20 in Los Angeles. A tour of Europe, the U.K., and Ireland is supposed to follow in October and November.\u00a0<\/p>\n
