RIO GRANDE VALLEY\u00a0\u2013 The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Monday the 2024-25 ITA All-Academic Awards. \nTo be named an All-Academic Team, the team must have a 3.2 GPA or better for the 2024-25 academic year. Student-athletes are named Scholar-Athletes if they have a GPA of 3.50 or better for the current academic year. The ITA recognized 159 men’s programs and 994 Div. I men’s tennis student-athletes with academic awards in 2025.\u00a0

\nThe Vaqueros men’s tennis team tabbed a 3.50 GPA this year while\u00a0Francisco Gamez<\/a>, Eduardo Menezes<\/a>, Will Roberts<\/a>, Santiago Serrano<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Sam Whitehead<\/a>\u00a0all had an individual GPA over 3.50.\u00a0

\nRoberts, Serrano and Whitehead also made the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Whitehead and Roberts were named to the Southland Conference (SLC) Men’s Tennis All-Academic Team. Whitehead is the 2025 SLC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year and UTRGV Male Student-Athlete of the Year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
