But that intensity often cuts both ways, and Kelly Oubre Jr. is the latest player to feel its sting. With his name tied to trade rumors, the veteran forward took to Instagram, firing back at critics and questioning the loyalty of the fan base. His pointed remarks revealed both frustration and a reminder of the sacrifices he has made to stay on the court.

Kelly Oubre Jr pushes back at Philadelphia 76ers fans

Kelly Oubre Jr, entering his third season with the Sixers, has delivered steady production. He averaged 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds while battling injuries that required finger surgeries on his shooting hand. Despite that, a dip in his three-point percentage fueled online criticism, which didn’t sit well with him.“I love Philly, but the love doesn’t seem to be reciprocated. What happened to this place?” Oubre wrote. “And for those saying I’m garbage because my 3% went down. Still put up numbers, and I’d still cook you. I played through finger surgeries on my thumb and pinky for three years, but still put my soul in this. That’s one thing only God can take from me. Hope to see y’all soon. Godspeed.”His words reflect a growing tension familiar in Philadelphia, where players like Ben Simmons also clashed with fan expectations. The city’s long championship drought has made the relationship between stars and supporters particularly volatile.

Trade rumors fuel frustration ahead of 2025-26 season

While Oubre’s contract value— roughly $8.3 million next season— makes him a logical trade candidate, his comments suggest the rumors have struck a personal chord. The Sixers are still weighing restricted free agent Quentin Grimes’ future, which could require salary adjustments. That puts Oubre’s name in constant speculation despite his reliability on the floor. With Joel Embiid expected to return from injury and Paul George aiming for a comeback year, Philadelphia will lean on depth pieces like Oubre to steady the roster. Still, his jab at fans highlights the complicated dynamic between the city’s expectations and the players asked to meet them. Also Read: “I really need to have that…” – Stephen Curry’s mom Sonya Curry revealed one thing she can’t live without

Kelly Oubre Jr. Image via: Melissa Tamez/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images The Philadelphia 76ers have built their reputation…

[434
49,48,72606,72603,71267,459,72607,72605,1528,72604,82
post-133355","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nba","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-joel-embiid-injury-updates","tag-kelly-oubre-jr-trade-rumors","tag-kelly-oubre-jr","tag-nba","tag-nba-player-performance-criticism","tag-oubre-instagram-response","tag-philadelphia-76ers","tag-philadelphia-76ers-fan-reactions","tag-sports
["GET
