The 2025 WNBA playoffs open Sunday. While all the seeds won’t be determined until the regular season wraps up Thursday, the eight teams that will compete in the postseason<\/a> have been decided. The Seattle Storm<\/a> clinched the eighth and final berth on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The Chicago Sky<\/a>, Connecticut Sun<\/a>, Dallas Wings<\/a>, Los Angeles Sparks<\/a> and Washington Mystics<\/a> have been eliminated from the playoff race.<\/p>\n

The best-of-three first round is a 1-1-1 format, with the higher seed hosting Game 1 and, if necessary, Game 3. The semifinals, a best-of-five format, are 2-2-1, with the higher seed hosting Games 1, 2 and 5.<\/p>\n

For the first time, the WNBA Finals will expand to a best-of-seven series and will have a 2-2-1-1-1 structure, in which the higher seed would host Games 1, 2, 5 and 7.<\/p>\n
