The story about Brendan Rodgers causing a split at Celtic angered the Hoops support.<\/p>\n

And the reason for that anger is simple. Why would a \u2018spokesperson\u2019 from the club come out to a national newspaper and deliberately trash the Celtic manager<\/a>?<\/p>\n

The report last Friday night said \u2018senior figures\u2019 at Celtic<\/a> were unhappy at Brendan Rodgers questioning the club\u2019s transfer policy.<\/p>\n

So who were these senior figures and why did they not have the courage to put their name to the story? In fact, was the story about the Celtic<\/a> boss even true at all?<\/p>\n

Former Hoops striker Andy Walker<\/a> believes it is and here, he explains why he believes that people inside Celtic have turned on Rodgers.<\/p>\n

Walker was left absolutely dumbstruck by the comments coming out of Celtic and shares exactly why he believes what\u2019s being said about Rodgers by the Hoops hierarchy is true.<\/p>\n

Walker told The Go Radio Football Show, \u201cI despair sometimes at what comes out of Celtic. I think there\u2019s been an arrogance there that\u2019s been evident for a number of years.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd Brendan Rodgers<\/a> speaking recently about, well, there\u2019s no disconnect here, we\u2019re all in good shape, we\u2019re all good pals and there\u2019s no disconnect between anyone.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a disconnect between someone in a very senior position at Celtic and the manager if that story in the paper is true. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I\u2019m amazed that no one\u2019s denied it at Celtic. I think that tells you that it\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd when you\u2019re briefing against your own manager, what does that tell you about the relationship? I think every supporter would want to feel that their manager or rather the board has got the back of their manager.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u2018stand-off\u2019 between Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic board<\/p>\n

The thing about all this carry on is that the fans all appear to be right behind Rodgers and his current issues with the Parkhead board.<\/p>\n

And speaking about the current situation, journalist Stephen McGowan, believes that there is a \u2018stand-off\u2019 between Rodgers and the Celtic board<\/a>.<\/p>\n

McGowan said, \u201cThere\u2019s three million reasons why he won\u2019t resign. We know how football works. Managers, if they want to go, want their contract paid up.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the very last club who want to pay Brendan Rodgers two-and-a-half million pounds to go away are Celtic. They barely pay two-and-a-half million for a centre forward, so why would they pay it to a manager who\u2019s not honouring his contract?<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s a bit of a stand-off now. It looks like the relationship is in a very bad way from the outside, and it\u2019s a case of who blinks first.\u201d<\/p>\n

If there is indeed a stand-off, there will only be one winner and it\u2019s not looking like it will be the Celtic board.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The story about Brendan Rodgers causing a split at Celtic angered the Hoops support.
