Holger Rune is experimenting with some big changes in the latter stages of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Rune was left annoyed at the US Open<\/a>, before he went on to lose in the second round to Jan-Lennard Struff.<\/p>\n

This has continued a mixed season for the Dane, with Rune winning the Barcelona Open<\/a> earlier this year, but he has failed to reach the quarterfinals of any Grand Slam.<\/p>\n

As Rune<\/a> now looks to return to form, something different has been spotted about him ahead of Denmark\u2019s upcoming Davis Cup<\/a> tie.<\/p>\n

Rune will be the number one player for Denmark when they take on Spain in their second Davis Cup qualifier in Marbella.<\/p>\n

When practicing ahead of the tie in Malaga, something different was noticed about the world number 11.<\/p>\n

Rune usually plays with the Babolat Pure Aero 98\u00a0racket, which is also used by Carlos Alcaraz<\/a>, but it appears that he is testing something new out.<\/p>\n

While it cannot be confirmed exactly what the new racket is, fans have speculated that Rune may be thinking about a switch to Wilson instead.<\/p>\n

It is unclear as to whether Rune will be using a different racket during his matches during Denmark\u2019s upcoming tie, as he looks to help his country reach the Davis Cup Finals for the first time since the format change.<\/p>\n

This will be Rune\u2019s seventh Davis Cup tie for Denmark, and he has a very impressive record when representing his nation, including two crucial wins earlier this year after knocking out Serbia.<\/p>\n

Rune has only lost three of his 10 matches in singles, and he is unbeaten in doubles competition for his nation.<\/p>\n

However, this will be the biggest tie of Rune\u2019s Davis Cup career, as they take on six-time champions Spain for a place in the Finals in Bologna.<\/p>\n

Although Spain appear to be a strong opposition, their team is not as strong as before after Carlos Alcaraz withdrew from the Davis Cup<\/a> following his US Open<\/a> victory.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz is not the only big name withdrawal for Spain, who have lost another Grand Slam champion<\/a> and left a potential opportunity for Denmark.<\/p>\n
