{"id":137427,"date":"2025-09-12T01:10:17","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T01:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/137427\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T01:10:17","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T01:10:17","slug":"host-families-needed-as-42nd-victoria-open-golf-tournament-returns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/137427\/","title":{"rendered":"Host families needed as 42nd Victoria Open Golf Tournament returns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/cheknews.ca\/victoria-open-returns-as-important-stop-on-pga-tour-americas-in-september-1234206\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> 42nd Victoria Open Golf Tournament<\/a> begins next week and many golfers do not have a place to stay while competing.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament takes place at the Uplands Golf Club in Oak Bay from Sept. 14 to 21 and features professional up-and-coming golfers playing on a world-class circuit.<\/p>\n<p>However, tournament director Brad Norris-Jones says a lot of the golfers cannot find a place to stay. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe struggle right now is to find host families for the professional golfers coming to town,\u201d Norris-Jones said.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time a large amount of golfers have been unable to find a place to stay, organizers say.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is challenging.
