Chloe Fineman addressed the \u201csadness\u201d of the recent shakeups on \u201cSaturday Night Live.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Ahead of the Season 51 premiere on Oct. 4, a slew of\u00a0cast members have departed<\/a>\u00a0the NBC series.<\/p>\n

Fineman, 37, called the news \u201cpretty wild\u201d while speaking to EXTRA TV<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome shocking stuff,\u201d she elaborated. \u201cA little heartbreak, sadness. I haven\u2019t fully processed anything, but I will say the show has such a turnover.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going into my seventh year,\u201d added Fineman, who joined \u201cSNL\u201d in 2019. \u201cI\u2019ve like, done it. You always experience [turnover], but these people stay in your lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, Michael Longfellow and Heidi Gardner are not returning to the late-night show. <\/p>\n

Gardner, 42, exited the series after eight years<\/a>. Her contract with \u201cSNL\u201d was not renewed,\u00a0<\/a>an insider told The Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s time for a new cast,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n

Gardner has yet to publicly address her departure but she was previously the longest-tenured woman on the show as of last season.<\/p>\n

The actress first joined the mix during Season 43 as a featured player.<\/p>\n

But the comedian had previously hinted about possibly stepping back from \u201cSNL\u201d in recent months.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will say, the only thing that I\u2019ve started to feel a little bit is just sketch fatigue, or idea fatigue,\u201d she detailed while on Craig Ferguson\u2019s podcast, \u201cJoy.\u201d \u201cAt this point, after doing Groundlings and\u00a0\u2018SNL\u2019\u00a0for so long, I\u2019m like, \u2018I\u2019ve written a lot of sketches.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Longfellow, 31, meanwhile, published a farewell message of his own after news hit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWill not be returning for a 4th season at SNL. Wish I was but, so it goes. It was the best three years of my life so far. I feel nothing but gratitude for the experience and everyone there. Lorne, you gave me the greatest job in the world and changed my life. You even put my mom on TV. Thank you doesnt begin to cover it, but thank you,\u201d the comic, who joined the show in Season 48, wrote on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Walker, 34, also addressed the news on his\u00a0Instagram<\/a>, sharing in part in a personal note: \u201cTo me, jobs in this industry feel like a bunch of little marriages. Some of em last for a long time if we\u2019re lucky, but most of them are fleeting. Permanent until they\u2019re not. That\u2019s the deal. You know what it is\u2026 when you sign up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans flocked to social media when the shakeups were revealed, with one person penning on\u00a0X: \u201cohhh my boys @internetdevon @Longfellowww i wish you both nothing but the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Walker reposted the comment\u00a0and\u00a0responded<\/a>, \u201cyall acting like we died lol we just getting different jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, as the show gears up for its premiere, \u201cSNL\u201d has\u00a0added five new faces to the mix.<\/a><\/p>\n

Last week, NBC announced that comedians Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson\u00a0and Veronika Slowikowska will all make their debuts on the sketch comedy show next month.<\/p>\n

Slowikowska, 29, hails from Canada and simply wrote on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>, \u201cDream come true \ud83e\udd72 see you Saturdays\u00a0@nbcsnl.\u201d<\/p>\n
