{"id":138814,"date":"2025-09-12T14:51:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T14:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/138814\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T14:51:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T14:51:07","slug":"rnu-wants-election-candidates-to-present-plans-to-address-health-care-concerns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/138814\/","title":{"rendered":"RNU Wants Election Candidates to Present Plans to Address Health Care Concerns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/registered-nurses-union-yvette-coffey-dry-confederation.jpg\" class=\"header-image\" alt=\"RNU Wants Election Candidates to Present Plans to Address Health Care Concerns\"\/>\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>The Registered Nurses Union is alerting political candidates in the upcoming election to be ready to present a \u201creal plan\u201d for recruitment, retention and safe staffing once the next government is formed.  <\/p>\n<p>Yvette Coffey\u2019s President\u2019s Tour made a stop in Gander yesterday. <\/p>\n<p>She says nurses are demanding change about what they call unsafe staffing levels, excessive workloads, denied leave, and forced overtime. <\/p>\n<p>Coffey says she\u2019s hearing the same concerns on every stop of her tour. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn those rural zones they\u2019re doing environmental services, they\u2019re doing dietary, they\u2019re doing labs, they\u2019re covering emergency departments, they\u2019re seeing upwards of 50 patients a day, and they\u2019re it. No support.\u201d says Coffey.
